You Blow My Heart Up, Valentine!! Bubble Gum Valentine Craft
When I was searching Pinterest for some quick and easy Valentines to make up for my step kids classmates, I fell in love with a few and then gave the choice to the kids what they wanted to make. They chose “You Blow My Heart Up” Bubble Gum Valentine Craft. What kid doesn’t like Bubble gum, so let me tell you how we made it!
Now, I decided to change things up a bit because when I did a test run with the glue gun, I found it pretty frustrating. And if I find it frustrating, then I know my step kids will too. They will loose interest and that just ruins the fun!
Here is what you will need:
- Foam hearts (mine were about 8″wx7″l), 2 for every Valentine you are making
- Small zip lock baggies (mine were 2″wx3.5″l and I found them in the craft section of the dollar store)
- Scissors, pen, ruler, marker, glue tape
- Bubble gum balls
Here is what you do:
Cut out the center of the heart. To do that you take your ruler and measure 1.5″ around one side of the heart putting small marks as you go along. Fold the heart in half and cut along the marks. Now you have a heart frame and a small solid heart. You can put aside the small solid heart as we don’t need it for this project. You could save it and use it for another craft project. 🙂
Next, take about 6 bubble gums and put them into the small zip lock. Put a small strip of glue tape at the top center of the solid heart then place the zip lock bag there to affix.
Now you will put small glue strips all along the edge of the heart. Be careful to not get anything stuck to it. Take the heart frame and affix to the glue strips. This will allow the bubble gum zip lock to hang out the center.
Your almost done!! Now to writer “You Blow My Heart Up!” along the heart frame. Add “To” and “From” and your Sweet Valentine will be sure to blow up with bubble gum happiness when they receive your wonderful handmade Valentine!
If you choose to make this particular Valentine, please share your work, we would love to see how yours turned out. If you are making a different Valentine, share those too, we are always looking for creative fun!!
