Breville 5-Quart Stand Mixer
I do not know how many years I have told hubby I wanted a Stand Mixer. I tried to convince him that it would make my life easier and also encourage me to make more things homemade. Let’s just say I was 32 and still did not have my mixer. I will be honest I only ever knew of KitchenAid mixers, but then again I never had researched anything else. So when I was checking out the Breville website and seen they too had a mixer this mama’s fingers could not type fast enough to see if they wanted to work together.
When Petunia aka my 5-quart stand mixer showed up on my door step I quickly took the box and retreated to my room. I needed to have silence and of course share with you all my newest toy. Check out the video here.

So my little buddy and I pulled the Breville out of the box and we were so excited to try some new recipes! First up we tried some Banana Bread Muffins, Buttercream Icing and a cake! This first thing I noticed is my little man was able to figure out how to use the mixer without being told. This truly showed me how user friendly it was. At one point I had to tell him that this was mommy’s new toy and he was not allowed to use it today lol.
There are so many awesome features with the Breville 5-Quart Mixer had that I truly fell in love with. I did find the whole unit to be heavy, but was grateful for the Lift Assist handles. The handles located on the mixer head and base allow for easy handling and maneuvering. meaning I could store the mixer away if needed and it was easily brought out again for use.
Another feature I enjoyed was the LCD screen with timer. This allowed me to set the timer to count-up to record mixing time, or count-down according to a specified recipe time before automatically turning off. Being a busy mom to two young active boys this feature was important. No longer would I over whip something once the timer was set. AMAZING!
The mixer itself is built to stand up to the toughest of baking. It has a 550-watt motor that is powerful enough to get all the work done but not loud where it interrupts others in the house. WIth the kitchen right beside the living room the last thing hubby wants to hear is a bunch of banging.
The mixer comes with a spatula, a pouring shield, a wire whip, a flat beater, a scraper beater and a dough hook.
I LOVED the scrapper beater and found it worked great for cakes mixes, muffins and other various batters. It allowed me to not have to scrap the sides as it did it all for me. I think this was my favourite accessory!
I do not think I could put into words how much I love my Petunia! The Breville 5-Quart Stand Mixer has truly gave me a new found love to get in the kitchen and create delicious items for my family. Knowing I can control what is in each item I make also allows me to make healthier choices for my boys. I also really enjoy that the boys want to get in there and create also. I am a firm believer getting the kids in the kitchen at an younger age not only helps them make healthier choices but also encourages then to try new things.
This is one kitchen appliance I know will never be leaving my counter and when you get one you will understand! Happy mixing!
