Splash n’ Putt – A Splashing Good Time

We visit Newfoundland as often as we can. With family and friends down there it is always nice to get back there each and every time. I will admit normally we go in the winter time as it is cheap, but after getting an awesome deal on flights we made a summer trip. So of course we needed to find fun things to do that would be suitable for kids 4 and up and also adults. After some internet searches and word of mouth we decided Splash n’ Putt Resort would be one of our destinations.

Splash n’ Putt Resort

Located in Glovertown, Newfoundland this fun waterpark is Newfoundland’s first! With a 360 foot waterslide, go-carts, mini-golf and so much more this was my guy’s favourite stop of our trip. Not only was there lots to keep my boys entertained but I also could get in on the fun.

We went with the Family of Four pass. It rang in at $190 and included the choice of seven rides between the go-karts, bumper boats, and bumper cars. Unlimited use of pools, waterslide, and mini-golf. To add in an additional person it is $51.17. I won’t lie the price was a little shocking to me at first. But once I factored in the short operating season, the employment of staff and the fact that they are the only place like that in Newfoundland it made perfect sense.

My little guy was a little short to ride things by himself but that did not stop the fun. He simply joined one of us and enjoyed the many rides with assistance. The best part? That who ever rode with him did not loose any of their ride passes as it only came off of his. ( Go Karts were the only exception to this)  This meant a little extra fun for whoever took him around.

Splash n' Putt Go Karts

Go-Karts

Fasten your seatbelts and rev your engines! The quarter of a mile track was the perfect size for young and old a like. Racing around the edges making sure to keep close to the inside lane was a blast. I can not even tell you how many times we raced each other and kept going back for more. I mean we closed the place on the go-karts and my boys still talk about it!

Splash n' Putt Waterslide

Waterslide

Looking for a thrill to cool you down on a hot day? Look no further! The 360-foot waterslide was the perfect mix of thrill and refreshing. Ride the gushing water as you slide down in the open flumes. Each twist and turn on the slide has you wondering what will happen next. The best part? No deep pool at the end of it made it a enjoyable experience for all as there was no worry about going under.

Splash n' Putt Mini-Golf

18-Hole Mini-Golf

My boys love mini-golf, but the issue we always have is it is always to short of a game. Thankfully the course at Splash n’ Putt was 18 wholes! This allowed for a longer time that gradually got a little more completive at each hole as we moved on. Narrow openings, windmills and various tunnels made for a fun, yet challenging game!

Splash n' Putt Bumper Cars

Bumper Cars

The bumper cars were the one thing I was not sure about. While my boys enjoyed crashing and bumping I found it to get a little out of hand. With many signs up stating no hitting from behind I found that rule not followed. I do not know about you but with the power of these bumper cars and the impact from being crashed into from behind was not fun nor enjoyable. But when that did not happen it was a lot of fun. The glowing race car murals and fun music helped with he experience.

Splash n' Putt Bumper Boats

Bumper Boats

I myself really enjoyed the bumper boats. The excitement of the chase and then the refreshing splash when contact was made was super fun. With each bump you send your opponent in an unknown direction! Ready, Set, SPLASH!

Splash n' Putt Pool Area

Pool and Kids Area

After we used up all our ride passes we hit up the pool area. Sadly it was a bit of a chilly day so the water was not the warmest, but come on now we are in newfoundland! The crazy weather did not stop our fun! The pools are heated and I was grateful for that and on a warmer day the water would of been very refreshing.  While we were splashing around in the pool my youngest hit up the kids pool/splash area. This fun interactive area featured a variety of scaled-down water activities for young children. Our kiddie area is fully equipped for tons of fun! Water fountains, interactive teeter totter and many other fun attraction kept my youngest and myself entertained!

We were lucky enough to stay on resort in one of their cabins and truly appreciated all their attention to detail. We ended up with a little guy in hospital for two days so our trip was almost canceled. They worked with us rescheduling and even offered to accommodate us if we had to cancel. I truly appreciated that.

We had such a fun time at Splash n’ Putt. From the rides, to the park and of course the pool area we had fun from the time we entered until we left. I would love to see maybe a special pass you could purchase to give you unlimited rides or even a special package to go with the cabin when you rent one there. But overall we had a blast!

This looks like such a fun place to spend a day! I have never been to Newfoundland (which is odd because I was born and raised in Nova Scotia) but I hope to make it there one of these days.
