2017 Holiday Gift Guide, Gifts for Kids

OOLY – The Gift of Creativity

How many times are your kids given gifts that collect dust? I can not tell you how many times my kids “need” something only to find it under the bed a couple weeks later. My husband and I have really tried to focus on giving gifts that will be used, do not need batteries and gets them off the tech. So of course a box full of various colourings utensils, sketch books, and colouring books was a must!

OOLY – The Gift of Creativity

Some might ask what the gift of creativity looks like so I thought I would write this post and tell you what is going into our box for my oldest!

As mentioned in other posts he loves to keep little journals. This is not only great for him to practise his printing but also allows him a creative outlet. The 2 in 1 Flip Side Notebook was the perfect addition. Basically you are getting 2 notebooks in 1. Open it one way and there are blanks pages perfect to doodle and sketch. Then flip it over and open the other way and the pages are lined, perfect for him to keep his special notes. I include some Super Fine Coloured Pens so he can doodle and write till his hearts content!

Now some of his projects are a little larger for the 2 in 1 notebook wouldn’t work. OOLY has a Doodle Pad Duos are perfect for the bigger project. This set of 2 sketchbooks comes with 32 sheets of quality sketch paper at 100 gsm paper weight. And they’re a pretty decent size at 8.25 by 11.5 inches. I know these are going to be well loved. I decided to pair them with The Triangle Coloured Pencils. Lots of colour options and they come in their own sturdy case!

Colouring has never been so fun!

Lets face it as much as drawing is fun, so is colouring. Thankfully I have tucked not one but two fun Color-In Books. These cute creatures in the Cozy Critters book are all cozied up and waiting for your creative coloring. This is perfect for my youngest as the pictures are a little larger with less detail. The Marvelous Market Color-in’ Book you can color amazing illustrations inspired from local and exotic markets all over the world. I personally love this book as there is way more detail. I figured the biggie could use the triangle colored Pencils and little one could use the Brilliant Bees Crayons as they are a bit thicker and provide a great grip.

To add a little more fun there is also a Rockin’ Guitar 3D Colorable along with Oodles of Doodles Multi Surface Markers. Let your child rock out with creativity as they make and design their own guitar. This inflatable coloring paper toy lets you color, inflate and play your very own guitar. Start out with coloring your paper guitar with colored pencils, markers or crayons. Then inflate with the included straw and now you’re ready for a colorful jam session. There’s two different sides to this paper guitar too. Just flip it over for a totally different look. Guitar strap included. So fun!!

This holiday give the gift of creativity with help from OOLY!
