Christmas is coming! In our home we love watching festive movies, reading holiday inspired books and of course baking special treats. This is the time of year that I enjoy spending that extra special time with my boys doing everything Christmas.
This year I wanted to tuck some new books and activities that we could enjoy leading up to the special day. If we are being honest, we enjoy our Christmas books all year long! But shhhh, don’t tell anyone.

Santa’s Workshop

We all know how busy Santa’s Workshop is this time of year. Let your little one see what is happening at the North pole with all the little last minute preparations. Each turn of the page brings a little more magic as this book has AniMotion!

Toy-tinkering elves, curious reindeer, and even the big guy himself come to life on the brightly illustrated pages of Santa’s Workshop.

The Twelve Days of Christmas

Whimsical illustrations spread holiday cheer in this new take on a timeless Christmas classic. From swans a-swimming to ladies dancing, The Twelve Days of Christmas comes alive with each turn of the page. Beginning outside a picturesque village, and journeying through festively decorated streets as the caroling procession grows, The Twelve Days of Christmas culminates with a huge celebration in the village square–complete with a partridge in a pear tree. It’s enough to make lords leap, pipers pipe, and drummers drum!

Twas The Night Before Christmas

Small and sturdy, this beautifully illustrated board book is the perfect way to introduce toddlers and preschoolers to the magic and tradition of Christmas.
Everyone’s favorite Christmas poem, Clement Clarke Moore’s ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas is back, and filled to the brim with all the trappings of the holiday, from dancing sugarplums to flying reindeer. Combining Moore’s enduring verse and Jon Goodell’s beautiful illustrations, this cheerful board book is a Christmas classic for the next generation.

I, myself, don’t really have a favourite Christmas book as such. I do like A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens – wonderfully written.
